Founded by Michael Carlson, a U.S. Military Veteran and Retired Police Officer with over 20 years of service, our journey began with a simple mission: to help homeowners, investors, and rural property owners reclaim and repurpose their land. After serving his country and community, Michael recognized a gap in the demolition industry—too many neglected properties, too few reliable solutions. In 2025, he turned that vision into reality, launching Homestead Demolition to deliver safe, professional, and affordable services tailored to the Tri-Cities region, Sullivan County, TN, and Washington County, VA..

Meet the Founder

Michael Carlson
Founder & President
Mike Carlson is a United States Marine Corps infantry veteran with two deployments to the Mediterranean area of operations and combat service in Iraq spanning eight years. He is currently a law enforcement officer with twenty years of service, including fourteen years on a SWAT team with five of those as a sniper. His professional background instilled the qualities that now drive Homestead Demolition: discipline, safety, precision and leadership under pressure. His training and experience directly translate into risk management and safety leadership in demolition operations.

Beyond his military and police service, Mike has deep roots in the Tri-cities community, having served both his country and local community with dedication. His transition into business ownership reflects his passion for creating economic opportunities in the region while continuing to serve others. As an owner/operator Michael is responsible for overall strategic direction, safety oversight, and relationship building with contractors, real estate investors and property owners.
